Master the Art of Oral Communication has been developed based on the latest PSLE Oral Communication paper. There are two components to the English Language Oral Communication examination. The first component requires pupils to read a passage aloud while the second component requires pupils to engage in a conversation based on a stimulus.
Each set of the reading aloud and stimulus-based conversation is based on a specific theme. The Oral Communication examination paper carries a total of 30 marks, with 10 marks allocated for reading a passage aloud and 20 marks for the stimulus-based conversation.
The purpose of this book is to provide pupils with ample reading practices as well as model responses for the stimulus-based conversation. Pupils are expected to read with fluency and very good pronunciation if they want to score exceptionally well for the reading aloud component. Similarly, we believe the model responses for the stimulus-based conversation will help pupils understand the expectation of the interaction to earn a high score.
We hope this book will help pupils, especially those in Primary 5 and Primary 6, practise and prepare well for this section of the PSLE English examination paper.
